Online Learning

Hello.

With the temporary closure of the school we are now entering a
new period of online learning!

If you would like to have any personalised activity ideas for your
child feel free to give me an email at skoch@westend.school.nz
or a text at 0284121393.

I will be looking to post online programs and home based activity ideas
regularly on the Room 5 blog, so check in when you can.

Thank you.

Sean Koch.

Getting to know each other

Room 5 has been hard at work over the first few weeks of the term. There has been a real focus on finding out more about ourselves. Room 5 just finished a colorful visual pepeha as well as practicing saying their pepeha to the class. We have also been practicing our buddy reading skills.

Welcome to Room 5!

Hello.

Welcome to another exciting year at West End Primary School.

My name is Sean Koch and I have the pleasure to guide your tamariki this year. I am entering my second year here at West End, having previously taught in Wellington. I look forward to seeing some familiar faces again, as well as meeting and welcoming some new students and their families to West End and Room 5.

It will be an exciting year and I look forward to the journey!

Thank you.

Sean Koch.

                            Our space painting!

We have been using this box in our room all year to play in and go on adventures. Today we came up with a plan on how to paint it with a space theme. It looks fantastic! We talked about what things we wanted on it and who would paint which part.
Well done Room 5, great cooperation and thinking.

Thinking about the next move.

What skills are we practicing in our play choices?

Emma used ice block sticks and straws to make a boat. She practiced cutting and sticking and said that she had a bit of trouble getting the mast to stay up straight so she had to think of different ways to make it stay up.
